I’m back in school, Rashid Echesa tells critics
Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has admitted having knowledge that some people have been mocking him over his alleged low education credentials.
Speaking on Monday, the boxer-cum-politician, however, told the group that has been making fun of him to prepare for a shocker ahead of the 2022 general elections.
According to Hivisasa sources, the Flamboyant leader said that he is already back in school and will soon be having the papers he has been questioned for by Kenyans and fellow politicians.
“Sasa nimerudi shule na ninasoma na ikifika 2022 hizo makaratasi wamekuwa wakisema zitakuwa (I am back in school studying. The papers will be available by 2022),” he said on Radio Maisha’s Bunge La Maisha show.
However, Echesa did not delve deep into the course he is taking or the institution in question.
He hinted at taking a stab at an elective seat in the much-anticipated poll but remained silent on the position he is eyeing.
Echesa who came to power after Jubilee government’s reelection in 2017 and later sacked earlier in the year, said that with the papers he will be able to go for any seat.
“In 2022 I will go for whichever seat,” he added.
Despite his sack, the Kakamega-born politician has remained politically active and a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
