REVEALED:Why DP Ruto was Blocked from viewing former President Moi’s Body

Reports alleged that the Deputy President William Ruto was denied a chance to view Kenya’s former president Mzee Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi’s body at the Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday 5 January,2020.

DP Ruto was told that Mzee Moi’s body who passed on a few hours before he arrived at the Nairobi Hospital was being embalmed by pallbearers from the Kenya Military Police and therefore he could not view the body.

The information behind the DP being blocked from viewing Mzee Moi’s body remained scanty as it was not clear whether someone just wanted to humiliate DP Ruto and this is not the first time the DP is being blocked from seeing Mzee Moi.

The late former head of the state’s family released a statement saying the DP visited at the wrong time when Moi was undergoing a routine medical check with his doctors as the main reason for blocking the DP from viewing Moi’s body.

DP Ruto arrived at Lee’s funeral home without any senior government official and only found the former Minister Franklin Bett who received him on reaching Lee.

Earlier on, Interior CS Fred Matiangi and Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe had accompanied the Moi family to the facility. They left a few minutes before Ruto arrived.
