Blow as Raila’s allied MPs in Western joins DP Ruto’s camp

On Sunday, the Deputy President William Ruto, made a tour to Bungoma county with an aim of popularizing himself in order to gain more influence in the Raila Odinga’s ODM dominated region.

The Deputy President had already gathered some support from the region through various Legislators including Didmus Barasa from Kimilili, Mwambu Mamboga from Bumula, Charles Gimose and Mululu Injendi from Malaba.

During the Sunday visit to Bungoma, the Deputy President was also joined with two new members from Raila Odinga’s ODM Party.

They included MP Mathias Robi from Kuria West and Wanyama from Webuye West.

“With MPs Mwambu Mabonga (Bumula),DidmusWaBarasa, BenWashiali001, Charles Gimose (Hamisi), Malulu Injendi (Malava), Dan Wanyama (Webuye W.), Rigathi_G (Mathira), Mathias Robi (Kuria West), HonMoses_Kuria (Gatundu S.), former Kakamega Senator KBonimtetezi & more than 30 MCAs.” DP Ruto noted on his twitter page.

According to what the DP posted on his Twitter page, it is therefore clear that a big number of leaders from Raila’s former ‘bedroom’, the Western region, are set to support him in his 2022 presidential candidature.
