The 2022 political duel has attracted massive political competition in the last few days. It seems that there are two political camps i.e president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
The recent past has seen deputy president William Ruto Intensify his activities in churches as he seemingly mobilize troops for his expected opposition to the looming referendum.
However, The Sunday Standard reports that Ruto’s activities in the church have put him on a colliding path with his boss president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The publication reports that Dr Ruto was expected to meet Akorino delegation today but his meeting has now been taken over by president Uhuru Kenyatta. The head of state requested to take over the meeting.
According to the publication, the meeting has become a subject of conflict between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s schedule.
Initially, Ruto had scheduled a meeting with the Akorino leaders but the programme was changed after the president request to meet the same group.
Caught in the middle of the competing interests, the sect put off the DP’s meeting, which had been timed to coincidence with Kenyatta’s trip to the coast.
With the organizers finding themselves in a rough corner, they were forced to call off their meeting with William Ruto and instead the approximately 500 Akorino leaders will now meet the head of state today.
