Trader beats Police officer to death in Ngara over an old phone

A police constable attached to the Parklands Police Station was on Tuesday beaten to death in the Ngara Nyayo Market by a trader.

The incident was reported at Pangani Police Station and recorded under OB 76 /17/11/2020 at 4:48pm.

Witnesses said the police officer had an argument with the suspect, identified as Willy alias Rasta, over an old phone at the trader’s shop.

According to Nation,the argument went south and the trader hit the policeman in the head with a blow sending him sprawling on the road. Witnesses said that the suspect also stepped on the officer’s stomach killing him instantly.

The suspect fled from the scene immediately after the incident.

Officers from Pangani visited the scene of the crime before the body of the victim was taken to Kenyatta University Hospital mortuary.

The suspect is still on the run, police said.
