It’s official: Mp Timothy Wetangula to run for Nairobi Governor in 2022

Westlands Member of Parliament Timothy Wanyonyi Wetangula has officially declared his ambition to run for Nairobi County Gubernatorial contest.

“Ladies and gentlemen, while I have made huge efforts and contributions to uplifting the lives of our people in Westlands Constituency for over 15years, I now have a bigger calling- to become the Governor of Nairobi County in 2022.” he said.

The two-term Westlands legislator exuded confidence that he has what it takes to make Nairobi city a better place for Nairobians, citing his positive track record at the constituency level.

“As MP Westlands, I have worked with my people to attain such great progress for them by being honest, transparent, selfless, and dedicated, and by God’s divine mercy. This model of leadership has worked for Westlands; it will work for Nairobi as well!” he added.

In a recent interview with local media station, West TV, Wanyonyi said he had notified his party Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of his intentions to vie for the Nairobi seat using its ticket.

He said that his official announcement will be followed by an intensive commencement of a grand march to the City Hall and urged ODM delegates to support his bid to successfully fly the party’s flag in 2022’s polls

“This is why, next week, I will be making the official declaration of my candidature for the Nairobi Gubernatorial race on our ODM Party.” he affirmed.
