KIRINYAGA Governor Anne Waiguru alleges that the county Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) has summoned his team for interrogation ahead of Deputy President William Ruto’s visit to the county Sunday, 28th November 2021.
“The DCIO Kianyaga is now summoning my team to interrogate them before DP William Samoei Ruto’s visit to Kirinyaga. Please stop intimidating my team using security forces,” the governor posted on her Facebook page.

DP Ruto is expected to worship at the ACK Kianyaga after which he will hold rallies in Kirinyaga, Kutus and Kerugoya towns respectively.
However, the second in command visit comes at a time when Waiguru and Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici are caught up in a political supremacy battle ahead of the 2022 general elections.
His visit comes in the wake of a show of political might that has over the last couple of days ensued between Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici.
The bruising political jostling between the two women leaders that has put Kirinyaga into focus, comes after the entry of Waiguru into the UDA camp
Both leaders who have been political rivals are eyeing the governor’s seat on the UDA ticket in 2022.
Ahead of Ruto’s visit, political battle lines have been drawn as each of the contestants have since declared themselves as hosts and ready to flex their political might during the event.
Ruto is set to attend a church service at ACK Kianyaga prior to a meet the people tour at Kianyaga, Kutus and Kerugoya towns.
