Museveni, Uhuru Kenyatta signs cross border deal for Karamoja ,Turkana and West Pokot areas


Presidents Museveni and Uhuru Kenyatta have arrived in Moroto town for the launch of the Cross Border Sustainable Peace and Development Programme for Karamoja, Turkana and West Pokot areas.

Cabinet on Monday agreed to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of the Republic of Kenya (Turkana/West Pokot).

Government in support of cross boarder programme for sustainable peace and development is scheduled to be signed today in Moroto and that the programme will officially be launched by their Excellences the Presidents of Uganda and Kenya.

The objective of the MoU is to accord communities on the Uganda and Kenya sides of the boarder, opportunities for better co-operation, close coordination and peaceful co-existence as well as bridging isolation gaps to improve their livelihoods.
